Q: I got this really painful splinter on my leg and it is about 2 cm. Its really deep in the skin. I can feel a tip on it, but i've already tried to take it out with tweezers, but it just wont work. So, will it come out by itself, or do i need to do something. Details, please.*sad face*
A: if I was there, I would dig it out for you, but often, after some time, they do either come out or disolve. I usualy use a (new) razor blade or a needle to open it up just enough to get it out, Yes, it hurts a little, but it hurts worse for longer to leave it in, and it might become infected. Have someone do it for you, if you find it to difficult to operate on yourself. Just wash it out good afterwards with some peroxide, and put a little antibiotic salve on it, it will be fine. Pain is just pain, its not that bad, but infection might be.First wipe the area down with some alcohol. Then Rub a bit of that toothache gel on the area first to numb your skin, if you need to.
