I Dont Need Two Weeks Rest For A Slightly Rolled Ankle Right?

Q: i rolled my ankle slightly while playing d. end at a scrimmage last week, and i culd still walk on it, and it was just rolled alittle. but i wanted a fast recovery so i got acupuncture, and it feels 100% better now, and i can run on it now...he wrote a note saying i'm out for two weeks for my trainer, but the trainer said that's BS. 2 weeks for a slightly rolled ankle. and now it's good, i'm just gonna put extra ice on it. but, if i dont prcactice next week i cant play the FIRST game, in which they need me to block and sack. so.....who's right, my trainer or the acupuncture dude...2 WEEKS?!? it already feels 100% good. AND, as a linemen, if i tape my ankles, will it still roll again? AND i've seen our wide recievers roll their ankles and still play all out

A: You should go to the doc and get his/her opinion. The only reason they want you out for two weeks is to make sure your ankle heals properly. It's either out for two weeks or out for life. You could do yourself a serious injury! Think about it this way: you could rest for two weeks, then be at the top of your game for the rest of the season, or you could not rest, listen to your coach, and be out for life. These minor things can be serious! Listen the acupuncturist or the doctor! THEY ARE THE PROFESSIONALS!!
