If I've taken 7 of my 10 day treatment of clindamycin, would it be ok to go ahead and quit taking it?

Q: I've been taking clindamycin for a spider bite, and I've completed most of my dose. The bite is healing well, but I'm starting to develop a rash on my arms and face. Should I go ahead and quit taking it because I've completed most of the round of antibiotics, and I think the infection is gone; at least gone enough to where I shouldn't start on a different antibiotic. Any advice from someone who has taken clindamycin or who knows more about it would be greatly appreciated. I know that the rash is related to the antibiotic. It's happened before with other antibiotics and the doc had me quit taking it.

A: first you should never stop taking an antibiotic because then you build resistance and then it won't work for you again in the future. But, since you stated that you have a rash also now, you should call your doctors office, i know its the weekend but someone who answers will be able to get in touch with your doctor who can call you and give you the proper advice
