Q: so i've had my belly peirced for about 4 months now and they said it takes 6 months for it to fully heal? and my peircing has dark skin purplish pinkish skin around the peircing of what looks like a keloid to me but i'm unsure if it is because it might be just like that because it hasn't heal fully yet so how do i know when it's completely heal and how do i know if that's a keloid or not??

A: it sounds more like it's rejecting than keloid-ing. a keloid is a bump or nodule that will grow and get larger - very noticeably larger. either way, i'd visit the piercer before i saw the doctor. they should know from looking at it if it is rejecting (as naval piercings are wont to do) or if it is indeed a keloid scar. are you prone to keloids? usually people who get them from piercings have had them before. many doctors won't deal with piercing and body modification problems, but the piercer will be able to tell you if you need to see one... and they probably won't charge you as much :)
